How does topical GHK-Cu compare with injections?
FAQOne randomized, double-blind trial tested GHK-Cu on human skin. In it, 40 women applied a nano-carrier serum twice daily for 8 weeks, and wrinkle volume fell 55.8% more than with the control serum. A PubMed search for this page found no human trial of injected GHK-Cu, and oral and nasal forms have none either.

The topical trial
The 2016 trial, published in the Journal of Aging Science, gave women aged 40 to 65 a GHK-Cu serum in a lipid-based nano-carrier, the same serum without GHK-Cu, or a commercial product containing Matrixyl 3000, applied to the face twice daily. Against the plain serum, the GHK-Cu serum reduced wrinkle volume by 55.8% and wrinkle depth by 32.8%. Against the Matrixyl product it reduced wrinkle volume by 31.6%.
The result belongs to that formulation. A nano-carrier is there to move the peptide into the skin, and a generic cream or a serum without one was not tested. The journal is not indexed in PubMed.
Injected GHK-Cu
A PubMed search run for this page on October 7, 2026, for human studies of GHK-Cu or copper peptide given by injection returned no results. Injected GHK-Cu is sold on the research market, but no published human trial describes it.
For what is reported about GHK-Cu's adverse effects, see GHK-Cu side effects.
Oral and nasal GHK-Cu
No study of oral GHK-Cu was found. Intranasal GHK-Cu has been tested only in mice: a 2024 study gave it three times a week to a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease and reported less cognitive decline and fewer amyloid plaques.
What is sold
On October 7, 2026, Prof. Peptide counted topical GHK-Cu products at 9 of the 71 vendor catalogs it could read, capsule or tablet products at 7, and spray products at 5. Only the topical form has a controlled human trial, and only for one serum.
