How do prebiotics work?

Clinical outcome translation beyond microbiome shifts. Microbiome composition reliably shifts; clinical outcomes (mood, weight, immune function in non-elderly populations) show variable effect sizes. The gap between microbiome-marker effects and patient-experienced outcomes is real.
