How long does TRT take to work?
FAQA widely cited review — Saad et al. (2011, European Journal of Endocrinology) — mapped when testosterone treatment's effects appear. It reported effects on sexual interest after about three weeks, changes in erections up to six months, mood effects at three to six weeks, and body-composition changes over twelve to sixteen weeks. Where the timelines come from
The standard reference for how quickly testosterone therapy acts is a 2011 review — Saad, Aversa, Isidori, Zafalon, Zitzmann, and Gooren, “Onset of effects of testosterone treatment and time span until maximum effects are achieved,” European Journal of Endocrinology, 165(5):675–685. It compiled, across published studies, when each type of effect first appears and when it reaches a maximum. The figures below are that review's, reported as findings.
Sexual effects
The review reported that effects on sexual interest appear after three weeks, plateauing at six weeks, with no further increase expected beyond that. Changes in erections and ejaculations may require up to six months.
Mood, metabolic, and body-composition effects
It reported that effects on depressive mood become detectable after three to six weeks, with a maximum at eighteen to thirty weeks. Effects on lipids appeared after four weeks, maximal at six to twelve months. Insulin sensitivity may improve within days, but effects on glycemic control become evident only after three to twelve months. Changes in fat mass, lean body mass, and muscle strength occur within twelve to sixteen weeks and stabilize at six to twelve months.
Blood, prostate, and bone
The review reported that effects on red blood cell production are evident at three months, peaking at nine to twelve months; that PSA and prostate volume rise marginally, plateauing at twelve months; and that effects on bone are detectable after six months and continue for at least three years.

TRT Nation
TRT Nation is a telehealth clinic offering testosterone therapy, enclomiphene, weight-loss treatment, anti-aging and sexual health protocols, plus its own lab panel. It holds a LegitScript certification and operates from a physical clinic in Tampa with a published phone line and weekday support hours. Its homepage displays 4.9 stars across more than 2,000 Google reviews, as displayed on TRT Nation’s homepage (checked 28 September 2026).
TRT Nation is one of the few clinics that accepts outside lab work rather than requiring a new panel. TRT Nation states two different windows for outside bloodwork. Its homepage says: “We require the following labs that can be up to 6 months old:” — listing Total Testosterone, Complete blood count, Comprehensive metabolic panel, Estradiol and PSA, with PSA carrying its own qualifier, “PSA (This test is also required for men over 40)”. Its FAQ page says: “If you’ve had recent labs drawn (typically within 120 days) that include the relevant markers, your TRT Nation provider may be able to use them to expedite your intake.” The two windows differ — 120 days is roughly four months against the homepage’s six — and Prof. Peptide reports both. A panel can also be ordered through TRT Nation.
TRT Nation’s process runs treatment selection, then bloodwork submission or ordering, then a one-on-one consultation in which a licensed provider reviews the labs and sets the protocol. Medication is prescribed after that consultation, dispensed through regulated US pharmacies, and shipped with free shipping and ongoing monitoring. It treats patients 24 and older. TRT Nation states its coverage two different ways. Its homepage says: “We operate in every state with the exception of Alabama, Alaska Arkansas, Missouri, and Hawaii.” — naming 5 exclusions, which leaves 45 of the 50 states. That 45 is arithmetic done by Prof. Peptide, not a figure TRT Nation publishes anywhere. Its FAQ page instead says: “TRT Nation currently serves patients in the majority of U.S. states.”, and adds that eligibility by state is confirmed during the online intake. The two statements differ, and Prof. Peptide reports both rather than choosing between them.
