Which peptides come in pill form?

FAQ

Among this site's compounds, only semaglutide has an FDA-approved pill, as three tablet products. Oral forms of hexarelin, GHRP-6, AOD-9604 and glutathione have human trials. On October 7, 2026, Prof. Peptide counted capsule or tablet products at 30 of 71 vendor catalogs, most of them compounds with no human oral data.

The status describes the oral form only; the evidence badge on each compound's profile covers every route and is often an injection study. "Research market only" means listed for sale with no study of that form found. A vendor count says what is listed, not that any product is absorbed.

What the human oral trials found

The approved semaglutide tablets reach the blood at an estimated 0.4–2% by label, and per the OASIS 4 paper, oral semaglutide 25 mg produced a 13.6% mean weight loss over 64 weeks against 2.2% on placebo. Hexarelin by mouth produced about 0.3% of the growth-hormone response of an intravenous dose in a 1994 study, against 77% for a subcutaneous dose. The AOD-9604 oral trials report safety only, and the glutathione trials disagree with each other.

For the adverse events reported at the semaglutide tablet doses, see semaglutide side effects.

What the research market sells as pills

Capsules and tablets were the most common non-injectable format in Prof. Peptide's October 7, 2026 count, listed at 30 of 71 vendor catalogs. The most widely listed were BPC-157 (21 vendors), 5-amino-1MQ (19), MK-677 (8), BPC-157 with TB-500 (8), KPV (7) and GHK-Cu (7). Orforglipron, the active ingredient of the approved non-peptide pill Foundayo, was listed as capsules or tablets at 4. None of these research-market products is an approved drug, and for most of the peptides among them no study of the oral form in people exists.

Approved oral peptides outside this site's compound list

Desmopressin (DDAVP tablets, Desmoda solution), octreotide (Mycapssa capsules), linaclotide (Linzess) and plecanatide (Trulance) are FDA-approved oral peptide products. The last two act inside the intestine and are minimally absorbed by design.

Why the absorption gap is so large, with each label's figure, is set out in peptide pills vs nasal sprays vs injections.
